So if Trade Me is only charging a tiered fee on purchases, then what is the following from the email Trade Me sent... 'Ping carries a 2.19% transaction fee to keep your money safe, and will be available on every listing...' This means that there is still a percentage charged on the amount paid for an item.  If you purchase is over $20 Trade Me is double dipping.

Shortsbandy, if you have someone offer cash and then pay you by bank transfer that will have you removed from Trade Me. Go hunting in the payment section and follow all the extra info and that piece of nastiness is in there.

Popular with a vocal few and so it has to be forced onto us. It must be admitted that after my Ping account was hacked, I spread the news far and wide that it was not to be trusted.  The is what happens when something is bad.

Only Ping or cash (for pickups) are allowed as payment methods, as bank transfers do not provide the same security or buyer protection. Please use the approved payment options to keep your transactions safe.'

From the questions and answer section on ping changes....'Using bank transfer will soon be against our site policy.' AJ I think you need to check your answer with Trade Me personnel.
