If you're an in-trade seller Trade Me take commission on both the item sold and the postage. It was supposedly implemented to stop traders selling an item for say $1.00 and postage was $100.00 and Trade Me were missing out on success fees. So now they are double-dipping which makes a really uneven playing field. And everytime couriers increase their prices...
If it's lost in transit that's not your problem - it is up to the seller to chase that one up. And I wouldn't be paying anymore either as by purchasing you entered into a contract with the seller to supply at that price.
If you ring or contact Aramex they will be able to give you a photo of the letterbox where the parcel was left. If it was left at the wrong address it is possible that they will able to retrieve it.
Basically, because NZ Post has the monopoly with rural deliveries and so they can do as they like.
The seller is responsible as they have sent to the incorrect address. I would get in touch with NZ Post and explain the situation to them - it is likely that they will still have it (assuming that the incorrect address is still on it). The seller should be the one looking into this for you, but as you are having no luck communicating with them...
Flossy I agree with you. I also enter a contract with Trade Me in listing with them - to accurately portray the information that I give them - by not including 'urban only' they are omitting important information that I am happy to provide. They are receiving fees for this service and I am not receiving the service I should be able to reasonably expect. If I sell a book for $5.00, how can I reasonably be expected to pay a further $4.50 for rural postage out of my own pocket, that doesn't make any financial sense at all. Been with Trade Me for 23 years and I am very disillusioned with the ...
You can't add a payment option after the auction has sold.
To be honest it's always a bit a gamble buying a vehicle and even more so without a warrant. I feel for you though.
Callum - it's slow, pathetically slow sometimes!
I ask that all purchases are paid for before pick up - which enables me to leave parcels for collection in our letterbox. I gave up on waiting for people to arrive at a given time a long time ago. . I do NOT accept cash payments.
