Common reasons for unknown charges

Check if the charge matches one of these situations:

  • A recent 'Buy Now' or shipping cost: Compare the date and amount on your bank statement with your 'Items I’ve bought'
  • A charge from another Trade Me service: The charge could be from FindSomeone or MotorWeb, but appear as Trade Me on your bank statement.  
  • A purchase by a family member: Check if someone in your whānau has used your card on their own account. 
  • A different Trade Me account: You may have accidentally set up a second account under a different email address.

FindSomeone and MotorWeb charges

Some charges on your statement might be from other Trade Me services like FindSomeone or MotorWeb.

FindSomeone subscriptions

If you see one of the following amounts, it is likely a FindSomeone (FSO) subscription: 

  • $9.95
  • $29.95
  • $59.85


MotorWeb reports

A charge of $14.05 is usually for a MotorWeb vehicle history report. 

Check your other accounts
If you have a FindSomeone account, log in there to check your current subscription status.

Review your Trade Me activity

Check your transaction and purchase history to see your recent activity. 

  • Trade Me account: View transactions for listing promotions, fees and Book a Courier. 
  • Ping account: View transactions for bought and sold items through Ping. 
  • Won items: See a list purchases for the past 45 days.
