Favourite searches, categories or sellers
We'll show you how to manage your favourite searches, categories and sellers.
Save your favourite searches, categories, and sellers and get notified of new listings.
Save a search to favourites
Save your favourite searches. When you do, you can choose how often we send you updates about new listings that match your search.
To save a search to your favourites on the Trade Me website:
1. From the Trade Me homepage, enter a search phrase into the search bar.
2. From the results page, select Save this search to the right of the search bar.
3. Select how often you want to get email notifications about listing related to the search.
4. Select Add to favourites.
To save a search to your favourites on the iOS app:
1. Go to search-fill Discover.
2. Enter a search phrase into the search bar.
3. From the results page, select heart-plus the heart plus icon in the top right.
4. Choose how often you want push notifications and summary emails related to the search.
5. Select Done.
To save a search to your favourites on the Android app:
1. Go to search-fill Discover.
2. Enter a search phrase into the search bar.
3. From the results page, select heart-plus the heart plus icon in the top right.
4. Choose how often you want push notifications and summary emails related to the search.
5. Select Done.
Save a category to favourites
Save your favourite categories. You can only save categories that don’t have smaller categories inside them (no subcategories).
To save a category to your favourites on the Trade Me website:
1. Select Categories from the top menu.
2. Browse for an item by category.
3. When you get to the smallest category, you can select Save this category to the right of the search bar.
To save a category to your favourites on the iOS app:
1. Select Marketplace from the top menu.
2. Browse for an item by category.
3. When you get to the smallest category, select the three dots to the right of the search bar.
4. Select Add to favourites.
5. Choose how often you want push notifications and summary emails related to the search.
6. Select Done.
To save a category to your favourites on the Android app:
1. Select Marketplace from the top menu.
2. Browse for an item by category.
3. When you get to the smallest category, select the three dots to the right of the search bar.
4. Select Add to favourites.
5. Choose how often you want push notifications and summary emails related to the search.
6. Select Done.
Add a favourite seller or store
You can save your favourite sellers and get notifications when they list anything new on Trade Me.
To add a favourite seller on the Trade Me website:
1. On the listing page, scroll down to the ‘About the seller’ or ‘About the store section’.
2. Select Add to Favourite Sellers.
To add a favourite seller on the iOS app:
1. On the listing page, scroll down to ‘About the seller’.
2. Select the seller’s username.
3. Select the heart-plus heart plus icon in the top right.
4. Choose how often you want to get summary emails about the seller’s listing.
To add a favourite seller on the Android app:
1. On the listing page, scroll down to ‘About the seller’.
2. Select the seller’s username.
3. Select the heart-plus heart plus icon in the top right.
4. Choose how often you want to get summary emails about the seller’s listing.
View, edit, or delete Favourites
To view, edit, or delete favourites on the Trade Me website:
1. Select Favourites from the top menu.
2. Select Searches, Categories, or Sellers to view your favourites.
3. Select the dropdown to the right to change how often you get emails about the favourite.
4. Select Remove from favourites to delete the favourite.
To view, edit, or delete favourites on the iOS app:
1. Go to My Trade Me.
2. Under ‘Buying’, select heart Favourites.
3. Select Searches, Categories, or Sellers to view your favourites.
4. To make edits or remove, select the favourite.
5. Select the heart-tick in the top right.
6. Choose how often you want to get notifications and summary emails and select Done.
7. Select Remove favourite to delete the favourite.

3. Select Searches, Categories, or Sellers to view your favourites.

Turn on push notifications
To receive real-time updates, make sure to turn on push notifications in the app.
To turn on push notifications in the iOS app:
1. Go to My Trade Me.
2. Select Profile & Account profile-framed.
3. Select Settings settings
4. Select Notifications alert.
5. Select Turn on Trade Me notifications.
To turn on push notification in the Android app:
1. Go to My Trade Me
2. Select Profile & Account profile-framed.
3. Select Settings settings
4. Select Notifications alert.
5. Enable Receive push notifications.
