Apply for a success fee refund
If a trade doesn't work out, you can apply for a refund of the success fee. We'll email the buyer and will email you the outcome within three days.
If you’ve refunded a buyer’s Ping purchase, your success fee will automatically be refunded.
Refunds will appear in your Trade Me account right away.
You can only request a refund through this process for 40 days after the listing closes. If you need a refund after 40 days, get in touch with us below.
- From 'Sold', select the listing.
- Under 'If the sale falls through' select 'refund of your success fee'.
- Enter the details and select 'Next'.
- Head to your 'Sold' page via 'My Trade Me'.
- Find the listing you need a refund for, and select the title.
- Under 'If the sale falls through...' select 'Let us know'.
- Enter the details and select 'Next'.
- On the 'Sold summary', under 'If the sale falls through', select 'Find out how'.
