Spring Clean and Win - Competition/Giveaway Terms and conditions

Acceptance of these terms & conditions: Spring Clean and Win Giveaway (Giveaway) is run by Trade Me Limited (Trade Me). By entering the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you may not enter the Giveaway and you are not eligible to redeem the Prize. Trade Me reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate these terms and conditions, the Giveaway or the Prize at any time, without notice to you.

1. Eligibility: Entry is only open to New Zealand residents who 
   (i) are 18 years and over, and 
   (ii) have an active Trade Me membership. 
   Directors and staff of Trade Me, its related bodies corporate and any agencies or companies associated with Trade Me or the Giveaway are not eligible to enter.


2. Giveaway period: The total Giveaway period is from 12:00am on 19 September 2026 (NZST) and closes at 11:59pm on 20 September 2026 (NZST) (Closing Time).


3. How to enter: To enter to win, you must create a listing of a general item on Trade Me Marketplace before the Closing Time (an Entry). You may enter the Giveaway multiple times by listing multiple general items on Trade Me Marketplace.


4. Prize: There will be one winner. The winner (Winner) will receive $1,000 cash (Prize). The Prize will be deposited into the Winner’s bank account.


5. Winner notification and announcement: Trade Me will select a Winner from all eligible Entries at random and notify them via their Trade Me member email address. Trade Me reserves the right to select another Winner if the initial Winner does not respond within 72 hours of notification and provide bank account verification as requested. Trade Me’s decision regarding the Winner is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.


6. Publicity: Entrants agree that their name and a description of the Prize (if applicable) may be published on Trade Me’s social media, within email marketing or on Trade Me’s websites.


7. Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trade Me shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by the Winner resulting from their entry into the Giveaway or receipt or use of the Prize (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages). Trade Me’s liability to any entrant or Winner will be limited in any circumstances to a maximum for all claims up to the value of the Prize.


8. Privacy Act: Trade Me will collect and hold personal information such as name and email address in order to notify you if you win, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


9. Further terms: 
   (a) Trade Me’s decisions regarding all matters relating to the Giveaway, including Trade Me’s decision regarding the Winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
   (b) The Winner will be solely responsible for any tax or other costs associated with the Prize. 
   (c) The Giveaway is solely operated by Trade Me and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any third party. 
   (d) We may verify the eligibility of entrants, and reserve the right to disqualify any entry or refuse to award the Prize where we believe an entrant is in breach of these terms and conditions or has been fraudulent or dishonest. 
   (e) The Trade Me terms and conditions (as amended from time to time) apply with all necessary modifications to the Giveaway.
