Search for items near you
Search for items nearby or in your local area with the pickup near me filter.
Use the location filter on the Trade Me app to find items available for pick up in your area. You can choose a search radius between 2-75 km to find listings close to you.
How the pickup near me filter works
- It's only available on the iOS and Android apps.
- It filters your search results to show listings near you.
- The results only show listings that have pick-up available.
- You can set a search radius between 2-75 km.
- When you search for the first time, the default radius is 40 km.
Use the pickup near me filter
Find items available for pick up in your area. Adjust the search radius to find what’s nearby your current location.
To use the pick up near me filter on iOS:
1. Enter a search phrase into the search bar.
2. Select Search.
3. Select Location above the search results.
4. Select Pickup near me. Depending on your location settings, you may need to select Enable location to use your current location.
5. Adjust the search radius.
6. Select Done.

1. Enter a search phrase into the search bar.

Manage location permissions
We ask for location access the first time you open the app after updating, or when you use the pickup near me filter.
You can easily change or remove these permissions at any time if you change your mind.
To update your location permissions on iOS:
1. Open the settings app on your device.
2. Select Applications.
3. Find and select Trade Me.
4. Select Location.
5. Select the permission level you want.
To update your location permissions on Android:
1. Open the settings app on your device.
2. Go to Applications.
3. Find and select Trade Me.
4. Select Permissions.
5. Select the permission level you want.
Privacy and security
- We only use your location when you are in our mobile app and running a local search.
- We do not track your location.
- If you sell an item, we protect your exact location.
- The search results only show a general area where you live.
- We limit the location accuracy to ±1000m.
- We do not permanently store your location information. We only use it to generate search results near you.
