We’re updating the design of our iOS and Android apps to make them easier to use and more accessible for everyone.

Why we're updating the app design

We’re updating the visuals in the Trade Me app to:

  • Create a consistent experience across all of Trade Me.
  • Make sure our apps meet the accessibility needs of all our members.
  • Align the app with our updated design system.


Changes you'll see 

As you list items or browse on the app, you might see:

  • Updated colours: You’ll see black buttons instead of blue and a different shade of yellow.
  • Updated icons: Clearer, modern iconography.
  • Refreshed animations: Updated visual movements.

When we're making updates

We started making these design updates in March 2026 and will continue for the rest of the year.

Because we're updating the app in stages, some screens will show the updated design while others will still show the previous format.

1. Go to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed.
2. Select Profile & Accountprofile-framed.
3. Select About Trade Me for iOS.
4. Select App feedback then submit your feedback.
5. Your feedback will go to our teams to review and take on board for future changes.

To give us feedback from the android app:

1. Go to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed.
2. Select Profile & Accountprofile-framed.
3. Select About Trade Me for Android.
4. Select App feedback then submit your feedback.
5. This will go to our teams to review, and take on board for future changes.
