If you see an error message while trying to pay with a card through Ping, follow these steps.

Authentication failed payment error
Sometimes, your Trade Me login and Ping’s login get out of sync.
If this happens, you may see an error message that says, Authentication failed with the payment service.
Log out and log back in
If you see the 'Authentication failed' error, you'll need to exit the payment, log out of Trade Me, and then log back in.
Once you’ve logged back in, try paying with Ping again.
How to log out
To log out of your Trade Me account:
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the bottom of the page.
- Select Log out.
