Motors Mania Giveaway Terms and conditions
Acceptance of these terms: The ‘Motors Mania’ giveaway (Giveaway) is run by Trade Me Limited (Trade Me, we and us). By entering into the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you may not enter the Giveaway and you are not eligible to redeem a Prize. Trade Me reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate these terms and conditions, the Giveaway or the Prize at any time, without notice to you.
1. Eligibility: Entry is only open to New Zealand residents who:
a. are 18 years and over,
b. have an active Trade Me membership. If you don’t already have a Trade Me membership, you can create one,
c. are casual sellers only (not RMVT registered, and lists less than 10 vehicles in any 12 months period)
Directors and staff of Trade Me, its related bodies corporate and any agencies or companies associated with Trade Me or the Giveaway are not eligible to enter.
2. Promotion period: The Promotion begins at 9:00am on 15 February 2026 and concludes at 11:59pm on 27 June 2026 (Promotion Period).
3. Individual Giveaways: Within the Promotion Period, a series of individual giveaways will run on a "one week on, one week off" basis. Each individual giveaway period (Entry Period) will open at 9:00am on the Sunday of the active week and close at 11:59pm the following Saturday. You can find out if it is an active week here.
4. How to enter: To enter to win, you must complete the Qualifying Action designated for that specific Entry Period.
a. The Action: For each individual giveaway, the Qualifying Action will involve watchlisting a specific category of vehicle (e.g., SUVs, Electric Vehicles, Classic Cars) on Trade Me Motors. You can find the qualifying action for the current active week here.
b. Automatic Entry: Once the Qualifying Action is completed during the relevant Entry Period, you will be automatically entered into the draw.
c. Entry Limit: There is a limit of one (1) entry per person per Entry Period, regardless of how many Qualifying Actions are taken by the individual during that Entry Period.
d. Liability: Trade Me is not responsible for any late, incomplete, or lost entries. This includes any entry not received due to technical problems, internet outages, or delays by Trade Me or its staff.
5. Emails and electronic communications: By entering the Giveaway you agree and consent to us sending you electronic messages, including emails, related to the Giveaway. For example, we may send you an email to confirm you have successfully entered the draw. Emails will have an ‘unsubscribe’ option where required by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
6. Prize: For each of the ten (10) individual Entry Periods, there will be one (1) winner (each a Winner).
a. Prize Details: The specific prize for each Entry Period will be announced at the start of that Entry Period, and will be able to be found on this page.
b. Conditions: Terms and conditions may apply to the use of specific Prizes (e.g., third-party gift card terms). Any terms and conditions will be set out or linked on this page. Prizes are not redeemable for cash, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged.
7. Winner Selection and Notification
a. Random Selection: For each individual giveaway period, one (1) Winner will be selected at random from all eligible and valid entries received during the specific Entry Period. The draw will take place within five (5) business days of the relevant Entry Period closing.
b. Notification: Trade Me will notify each Winner within 72 hours of the random selection taking place, using the contact details registered with the Winner’s active Trade Me membership. It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure their contact details are up to date.
c. Response Deadline and Forfeiture: If a Winner does not respond or otherwise make contact with Trade Me within 72 hours of the initial notification, that Winner automatically forfeits the Prize.
d. Redraws: In the event of a forfeiture, Trade Me reserves the right to select another winner at random from the remaining pool of eligible entries for that specific period. This process will continue until a Winner is successfully reached and the Prize is claimed.
8. Publicity: Entrants agree that if they are a Winner:
a. They will make themselves available for the preparation of all publicity that Trade Me may require and agree to being photographed or filmed for this purpose;
b. They grant Trade Me permission to use their name, character, photographs, videos, voice and likeness for advertising, promotion and marketing purposes; and
c. They will not be entitled to any fee or compensation in connection with such publicity.
9. Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trade Me shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever arising from the Giveaway (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages). Trade Me’s collective liability to any entrant, Winner or third party will be limited in any circumstances to a maximum for all claims up to the value of the Prize.
10. Privacy Act: When you enter the Giveaway, Trade Me may collect personal information from you such as name and email address and will hold and use all personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Further terms:
a. Trade Me’s decisions regarding all matters relating to the Giveaway, including Trade Me’s decision regarding the Winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
b. The Winners will be solely responsible for any tax or other costs associated with the Prize.
c. The Prize cannot be changed, transferred, or assigned.
d. The Giveaway is solely operated by Trade Me.
e. We may verify the eligibility of entrants, and reserve the right to disqualify any entry or refuse to award the Prize where we believe an entrant is in breach of these terms and conditions or has been fraudulent or dishonest.
f. The Trade Me terms and conditions (as amended from time to time) apply with all necessary modifications to the Giveaway.
