Petrina, I suggest looking through this thread, there is another option for courier which is a lot cheaper than booking using Trademe
It’s much cheaper using ishipping, it’s a website that you can link to your trademe account, to make all your NZ Post and courier bookings. It’s significantly cheaper as Trademe add a massive markup to the prices couriers charge
Is user experience considered by Trademe when they make these changes? Surely features and options which experienced users are struggling to find should ring alarm bells. User experience testing should be a fundamental consideration before something is changed or released.
Steve, a lot of what Trademe does makes absolutely no logical sense, including success fees on postage.
I agree wholeheartedly Flossy63. I am in-trade and have for some time reported other members who are clearly reselling and who should be in-trade, they have multiple listings of the same item and list another as soon as one sells. It's been years of reporting the same sellers using community watch, without anything changing. I suspect they just ignore Trademe's email's requesting they declare themselves in-trade. A lot of trademe's policies are not really policies, as they are not enforced. If they are going to advertise criteria for being considered in-trade, then they need to enforce the...
I couldn't find the original post, hence posting again. I wouldn't say it's a desired feature change, more just a case of getting the basics right in terms of removing features when they are no longer available.
Thanks Callum, aware of the previous post. I raise again as you are correct, it’s not fixed after more than a year. The hope would be that someone from Trademe sees this post, and jogs the memory to fix the issue. Or do we all just sit back, keep quiet, and just accept that a commitment to fix something a year ago is satisfactory?
It's not really the best result at all. Why should the buyer end up with positive feedback being changed to neutral (simply for not placing feedback), and now all feedback is deleted. The best result would be for the buyer to still have positive feedback, at the end of the day there isn't any fault on the buyers part. Being able to so easily manipulate the Trademe feedback system seems somewhat of a failure.
Heloise, it’s another one of the common bugs on the site, add it to the arm long list of site issues, and has been like it for years. Agree, it’s not a great look when people attempting to leave positive feedback end up leaving ‘??’. A shame there are so many issues with the site with seemingly no interest in fixing them
We are experiencing the same. We run a business on trademe, 2 years ago we would easily achieve sales of $3K per week. We now have a larger product range compared to 2 years ago. So far this week, its $300. I suspect this isnt entirely related to people tightening their belts and not spending, but also due to an overall decline across trademe, both usability of the site, and shrinking product selection due to increased fees for sellers.
