Cheers. This is what shows on the TM sold page (I generally do everything from BB). Do you reckon the "," could be causing the problem in those fields? Selected Shipping Md NZ Wide PTP Courier Bag Tracked No Rural Delivery Address , , Delivery Instructions Please leave in front porch if not at home. Thank you
Totally agree with your sentiments. Having had a similar problem, all my auctions now state that if not collected within 5 days of pickup instructions being sent, item is left at their risk. Generally give another 3 days and then advise will be donated to local Op shop if not collected by particular date (and thank them for the donation). As long as you are up front in the auction i see no problem with strict rules. After all we are not FB market place ;)
I only ever use PTP couriers. Only 3 sizes to choose from with a max of 25kg on each, no calculating volumetric etc. Small bag will often take 2 books at $6.45 nz wide and $5.30 local bag included. I just sort bag size when listing so no surprises. All repeat info is saved on site and TM is integrated so it takes about 3 clicks start to finish. :)
Ive basically given up selling collectibles on TM now. Lucky to sell a couple of items a week this year. Ive gone back to the old school auctions (which are now selling online) and doing well. Example: a 1950s horse racing game i couldnt get a bid on with TM after 4 weeks at $20 reserve went for $55 at auction first night. Higher commission paid but stock moving and no photots or writing required ;)
The Site Stats say it all: at 10:30pm on Wednesday night - over 8 million items being looked over by just under 9,500 people. Site stats People online right now (live) 9,346 No. of active members (live) 5,607,310 No. of current listings (live) 8,012,352
Same thing! Im retired and sell secondhand items as an interest and for beer money. I had to list as a Trader due to "consistent listing" from books thru to antiques and was making on aveage $300 in sales a week. WAS! Over the last few months sales have taken a downward spiral, often not even getting one view on many items, and now averaging $50-$60 a week. Barely worth the time and effort of going through the process of listing now. BUT I have now started taking the same items down to the local auction rooms (in CHCH) and virtually everything goes each week. Higher commission and have to ...
Dont sweat the small stuff. Its just another window on the things you are selling. EVERYTHING still sells on TM and with two clicks you can go from BB to TM anyways. I ONLY ever list and buy with BB and it is such a breeze to use, TM still clicks the ticket for their profit and BB doesnt charge a cent to use.
Actually using bidbud to find a users name takes about 2 sec. Much easier tham TM or Google ;)
I only ever use BIDBUD. Best thing since sliced bread and by using it, it cuts out all the crap that TM promotes. It is far quicker and easier to list thru BB as a seller and to quickly search TM as a buyer. Heaps of useful features too. BB is not a separate site as others have explained, it is merely viewing TM listings thru a different clear window; one without curtains, blinds, hanging dream catchers, or other items distracting from the view.
