Homepage crunches to a grinding halt randomly. You type a term into the search field and the text stops entering. Lift your hands off the keys and watch the rest of the word you typed materialise in slow motion. Am I the flash? Or is Trademe built on Flash?
Gary, it's useless if people don't know about it, and Trademe support doesn't provide it when asked about how to address the issue.
As a side note I just went back and tried to find a link to the URL above. It's nowhere I can find it. Unpublished as far as I can tell. So how are meant to curate this when it's not even made available?
Happened to me twice in the last couple of months. It's infuriating.I asked Trademe to look into it the first time and explain to me how it keeps defaulting to some random address I used over a year ago; not even for a purchase... but a pure parcel pickup booked through Trademe. For one... why override the correctly set default address, permanently, for an ad-hoc parcel booking? Two... the UX is not right. If it had clearly showed me an address I would have changed it. I'm now running in circles chasing a second parcel and getting nowhere with support. They seem oblivious.Since it was never...
I once used Trademe "Book a Courier" to ship an item. Forever since then when I use buy now it defaults to this person's address as MY home address. The purchase flow doesn't make it obvious that it sets this bogus address, and of course I'm never thinking about it at the time. I have always set my correct home address in My Trademe. Trademe refunded the last item that went to this random house, but they were given the story then... so I really didn't expect it to happen again. But it has. There seems to be some bad UX flow and possible bug defaulting to previously used addresses.
