The buyer has already booked the courier. They booked they courier, then emailed me to ask for the extra $5.50 rural delivery. I emailed them to let them know the wrong address was sent.
Thanks to you both, it does look a pretty simple process. I feel bad that Im causing an inconvenience to the buyer even though it wasnt my doing, but hopefully its not too hard for them to do it
Thanks S. Is it a simple process for the seller to cancel the courier, get a refund for that booking, and rebook with the correct address? And if so, what is it?
Rachel, to answer your question - YES absolutely the seller is responsible. They have the contract with NZ post and they are required to get it to you. I have noticed recently that a few parcels I sent are "stuck" at the post shop for days (trackng states ready for pick up), and then all of a sudden its updated and then delivered shortly. If it was 10th, I wouldnt be panicing just yet. Its probably still making its way.
This maybe a stupid question, but has your product got a stock level of 0 causing it not to list? For me, if it doesnt list its either because of this otherwise there is sometimes a message stating why it hasnt listed (eg account in debit, missing info - eg DVDs forgetting to tick the nz classification button, too many words) - these are just examples ive seen
Jason, I too would recommend using the MyProducts tool that Callum is recommending. Not only do I not have the issues that others have with the changes, but since I starting using it years ago, it has saved me so much time with not having to manually relist auctions, do manual FPO and when listing new items.
How is their feedback - something they have done before? If not done already, I would be asking why, and why did they bid if they didnt want to buy. For 3 reasons, just out of interest (they must be a reason), also it gives you further evidence if required and you might be able to address their reason and the sale proceed. You may not get a response. Dont forgot to place appropriate feedback
You may have a point re the higher shipping costs due to their incorrect location, but did you not ask the shipping costs prior to buying? Asking the buyer to load the shipping costs onto the auction prior to buying wouldve resolved both the higher cost, the waiting for the cost, plus the need to pay via manual deposit. If shipping hasnt been loaded, I always ask so I know the total cost of the purchase
Try using MyProducts, and you avoid all the issues
But in this case both parties werent in the same city, so the across town rate doesnt apply. And in some larger cities such as Auckland, it doesnt even cover all of the Auckland area. You should also not assume which company the buyers use, for their reasons they may use a particular one and also might have additional costs to send it. The fault of the seller is that they had the wrong location, but us experienced users know that this can sometimes happen and never rely on that solely. You fault was not confirming the shipping price prior to bidding. As you didnt, the price of shipping isn...
