The answer to your question is no, sellers are not allowed to bit on their own auctions. But apart from the bidder living in the same area, what actual evidence do you have? You do realise there are more than 2 people living in Kumeu eh? And if you are interested in the same 2 items then its possible that others might too. Im not saying its not happening, just saying it could be legit

You could ask them to organise their own courier pick up so you dont have to pay the courier back

Just an update. I've just heard back from the buyer saying they "can not process the payment -- even if I want to do that ---- because the bank doesn't give me any other option - until I put the correct name to the connected correct numbers. AS I can not do anything about this--- you can relist the items." I actually sent them a snip from back actual bank statement showing my name and account number which is exactly what i sent to them. I also gave them the link to this post. They have not said whether the tried any of the suggestions so i assume they didn't including contacting their bank

Hi Eric, did your auction have clear photos of what was included and did it state that these are what is included and nothing else? I realise there was sealed packaging so you may not know what was supposed to included. I would google what shouldve been included to see if you can ascertain what is missing and from the set, compare to your photos/description and determine whether it is reasonable that this would have been obvious either way. If the item is under 70mm thick, you dont need to measure volume. It usually falls into the S or M depending on the size of the book. You can go to the NZ post website "rate finder" and put in the dimensions for the price. Take note that they usual display their courier price first, but look lower and you'll see their economy rate

You can do this on "my products", as well as many other useful things

The seller thought it was too complicated to change the courier booking so thought this was easier. I sent them both the link and your instructions. Yes they did refund my original ping payment

Just an update, the seller cancelled the trade...but all is good - and then relisted at amount I won by with a buy now. I used the buy now, paid by ping again double, triple checked the address (and also made a copy of it). I also did as you suggested S and included the address in delivery instructions (thanks - that was a great suggestion and will definitely use it). This time, the correct address was sent by trademe and buyer stated they will send it off today. So all worked out. Thanks again for both your help
