Perhaps a painful lesson learnt. While I have a few regular customers who I know and trust have goods before payment, in other cases would never let goods go before payment. How long has it been since they picked up? It maybe that they genuinly forgot and not looked at any email reminder you sent them, always start from the positive side rather than assume they are the bad bay. Keep at them to pay. If they do not pay let them know if payment not received by a certain date and time , that you will place red feedback stating their facts and noting their dishonesty. If you place red feedback...
Hi Jacqui. Pretty much as Gary said, Dont let the buyer bully you into sending undercost. Send him weight and dimensions. Then advise him what your combined shipping cost is. He then has the option of paying you (after having dimensions to convince himself your request is genuine), or organising freight himself. And give him a date and time that you require payment by stating the trade will be cancelled at that point and success fee requested. Its then a deadline buyer has to work within, and seeing he seems to be onselling item before he even owns it, it puts the pressure on buyer to compl...
If possible split into multiple less voluminous parcels as couriers will then be able to take probably
If within same city, $8.50 would pretty much cover a stamp album. Can only see the reason for asking extra shipping if you paid urban shipping but are a rural address "with his courier", then $6.50 is ok for the rural extra price
It seems you have already identified what "may" be the issue, ie thet they have more than one of that item to sell. If they only had one and they put it out for bidding, and it did not reach the $$s they had hoped for, they may be tempted (against TM rules) to relist at a higher price and abandon your sale. If they are selling it at the same price as you bought for, there is no benifit in them relisting, if only one item.
Suzie. While this is happening more generally now, however there is always a surge of non payment before and after xmas. Presumably people on a buying spree then they look at their bank account and bail out. If you select Ping payment as the only payment option, then I believe buyers cannot win listing unless its paid for at the time. So this method can eliminate non payment. But saying that, this then excludes a % of the market who want to do bank deposit/ pay cash on pickup, and so you are limiting your customer base
Dee- Trademe are not interested in making costs cheaper for members. Quite the opposite, they are trying to increase their income to the max so they can sell off the site to a buyer at max profit
Check your emails for the original purchase confirmation email which will have the sellers email address in it
So Rochelle. What was the outcome of all this??
Gary. From what you have posted here from android, it would seem the seller sees a different view to the buyer as you are posting a buyer view there, which is different from my seller view. Under"Next steps" I only get option of placing feedback or booking a courier "Seller details"/ "buyer details" will be the same, but obviously reversed for buyer or seller. The next section for me as seller is "Payment details" just listing reference #, sale price, shipping option selected, shipping price and total to be paid. However from your screen shot (as a buyer) the next section is "instructions...
