Who here knows what Dosh is? when Payment appears in your account from Dosh?,
AnsweredJust a heads up,
Well been on phone again today to bank, as money refunded but back in account today, under Dosh??
it appears if a trade goes awol, and you need to refund to account money came from,
you cannot, and neither can the bank,
both the bank and I at it again today trying to sort it out as money bank in my account today, what is going on?,
After googling Dosh while I was hold waiting for bank staff to work it out also, found it is an app, digital wallet platform,
I had never heard of it before, so what should be a direct transfer between banks within hours, eg. BNZ and ANZ ,
is delayed until next day via the app platform, and Account name is Dosh,
so learning curb for bank staff also,
this has caused a major issue over the last few days, as money appeared in account hours after trade was cancelled,
and buyer notified trade now cancelled, and asked not to pay, been offered out on FPO, which was accepted quickly, hours before money appeared in account,

I would be inclined to run this Member via TradeMe staff - Dosh is a Visa debit/credit card & not an approved payment method of TradeMe. - It's supposedly Not available in NZ.
Proceed with caution! - Cheers.

flossy63 Community SuperuserPayment came direct from a BNZ account, via the dosh app platform, so was not the buyers account,it is the apps bank account?, hence why my Bank staff did not know what was happening either?,looks like a normal legitimate bank account,so you cannot make a refund into it and neither can the bank reverse payments back,I don't have Ping so was not a ping Payment,Trade Me have been involved, they just got back to me with bank account number, yes same bank as me so Immediate refund, which means if they used there own account from the start, it would have been an immediate payment into my account the previous day, and would not have all this drama, appears some buyers make life harder for some than it needs to be,I want to put note in my payment options, No payments accepted Via the Dosh App !!!,although in My Products, the other option no longer shows on auctions when they go live,as has been like that for awhile, needs to be fixed,1

Flossy, not sure what's wrong with your payment options, but I have Other payment options and these show on all my live auctions via MP. Make sure you don't have any strange chars in the line as that cut's them off. I used to use commas, but that broke it if you had more than 1.
I have this.
Just for a test now to see if the problem is fixed I edited a product in MP to add in commas between the options and told it to update current listing, and it broke again.
This is what I have in MP
But this is how it displays live, you can see Internet banking, Pay Anyone has been cut out by TM.
I've just reverted it back now.

The fault with commas and maybe other chars was first mentioned on here back in 2021.

If you get rid of the comma at the end it will fix it. I just checked exactly your wording with and without the comma to verify.

Hang in there I've found the hair straighteners 👍
- Yes! Dosh currently partner with the BNZ.
- Members open an Everyday account in the Dosh App.
- Everyday account numbers are the Member's Mobile ph number.
- Yes! Everyday accounts can make manual Bank Transfers to vendors online & via Internet Banking using the 1 pooled Dosh account for all Members.
- The Member's Mobile number is used in the Dosh App Transfer field before the Transfer out to a Vendor is processed.
This is the Account name & number...
- Dosh is an escrow service only.
- Members money is pooled together in the same Dosh account(s).
- Dosh isn't setup for accepting refunds of purchases made - this is between the Vendor & individual. Member to arrange outside of and independently from Dosh.
Everything looks very legit - Linked in - Web/Net NZ site etc. - Except for Facebook.
If the Member's money remains in your account over the following week(s) they will have to make contact with you requesting a refund supplying their account details for the refund to be made into.Just re-read you refunded via TradeMe providing Bank account for that Member 👍
Clear as mud? - Cheers 😊

flossy63 Community SuperuserYes, that was the account number just different suffix, causes too much drama if you need to refund, would have been immediate payment if they paid direct from their personal bank account as same bank as me,at first I though buyer was just being smart using dosh as a reference?, as slang for money, so did the bank at first Lol!.1
-
S Community SuperuserEditedLol - Dosh - I saw that too 😊This is a Great Post alerting others to this!It Really didn't look legit on initial encounter & given the latest US car vac scams - certainly catches one's radar!A note declining payment method sounds good - as you've found it can't be traced back either or without TradeMe's intervention - giving wide berth to a potential whole new can of worms throughout the platform! Thanks for sharing this information😊0

"Dosh" is a crass term for Money.
Usually used by comic book characters like Dick Tracy criminals.
You also answered a concern that I was having.
Too bad you can't reply back to their bank account making an entry that says
'Tanks, Guv'nor.'
If the amount is under a few hundred dollars they'll have an ass time finding a lawyer to help play their game so more cash for your coffers.

S Community SuperuserKia Ora All,Unfortunately with the Dosh NZ plan Customers have the option to automatically have their entire pay directly sent to their Dosh account and therefore only have funds in this account to spend/use - part payments & random top up payments are all accepted though the concern is where full wages are paid into this Dosh account perhaps an original Bank account in this case becomes obsolete?I have passed this through to TradeMe staff as I can't see how this can be controlled especially in circumstances where a refund has to be made if an alternative Bank account is not available. - Cheers.1

UPDATE: from TradeMe staff regarding Dosh payments...
<quote> If you'd like to be protected as a seller, you'd need to offer one of our preferred payment methods so we can help if things go wrong.
If you're having trouble with a particular trade just reply to this email with the details and we can try to help you refund the buyer. </unquote>In saying so contact TradeMe via Chat and they can see if they can assist with a Bank account number as they have for flossy Otherwise you would need to wait for the Buyer to get in touch with you with an alternate bank account number for payment receipt.
Writing in your Listings like flossy has suggested 'Dosh payments not accepted' is about the best you can do if you don't want to deal with these payments although that may not prevent Members from doing so. - Cheers.
