Seller wants to back out of the trade

Hi Reinna. Yes, if you are happy with the bangle as is you have a right to receive it. Sometimes sellers can use that as an excuse to not send something. Especially if the price didn't go to what they were hoping for or they have had second thoughts about selling it.
Before you go ahead you might want to ask for photos of the damage. Just in case they want to be really silly and try to further damage the item before they send it to you.

Fully agree with Callum there. Photo of the damage would be good. Who knows what level the damage is? 1 out of 10 or 10 out of 10! :)

Unfortunately the seller is now accusing me of ulterior motives for wanting a damaged bangle instead of sending my bank details for a refund. The bangle is an older style and had dents that was mentioned in the Auction so i was well aware it wasn't perfect which is why i found her response of she will not send a damaged bangle and her bangle her decision comment unwarranted. I think now its become a morals situation for me. I was grateful for the first email letting me know about the further damage but now it feels like gaslighting and projection. I do realize going through with the refund would end this situation fast but my stubbornness doesn't think its right. Thanks for all your advise, its appreciated and calming

Kia Ora Reinna,
File a Dispute Resolution from your Won items folder to TradeMe Staff to report this in!
Unfortunately at this stage you are best to place relevant feedback and search for another item.
TradeMe suggest if you believe the Seller should continue with the trade to contact your local Citizen's Advice Bureau for advice. - You also have the option of pursuing this through the Disputes Tribunal - Depending on the value of the item this may not be worth your while. As Callum indicates, if you are concerned of your Seller's reasoning, whether the purchase was at a low value Reserve as opposed to a Buy Now you can file a report with TradeMe Staff so they can note the Seller's account. - In which case you may like to add the Seller to your Favourites so you are emailed with their New listings incase the bangle is relisted at a higher value. The Help page you are after is Below for you. - All The Best - Cheers.0 -

Perhaps the seller is worried because the damage brings the item into the 'not as described' category in buyer protection. Then if they send it anyway, it will cause them more problems? Maybe they want to refund you so they can relist it correctly as per trade me terms and conditions? Just a thought.
