Paid for item and trader has now disabled account

I made two purchases from “snowbunny11” red flag should have been it was a new account, but she was address verified and offered pick up. Great friendly communication, esp offering combined shipping. I made payment and now she has vanished. I have lodged disputes, and she has clearly done this to multiple people as in one day her feedback went from zero to -4. I paid by bank transfer, is there any hope I can get my money back??

Just for the record the disablement is automatic when someone gets to -2 so they didn't do that themselves. It is a Trade Me safety feature. So that might give you a glimmer of hope that the seller hasn't done a deliberate runner. It is unusual for someone setting out to be a scammer to offer pick-ups as well. So that's another positive sign. Still it's not looking that great, and a good lesson to use ping. Especially if the seller is new.

The address verification is curious. Trade Me stopped offering this 4 years ago. Somehow new accounts do occasionally show as being Address Verified though. Another annoying Trade Me glitch. I wouldn't read too much into that.

@callum yea I’m so mad with myself, I normally always pay with Ping, but because we were combining shipping I couldn’t in this instance. I’ve been emailing daily for over a week, she’s clearly a scammer. And not much hope of getting our money back by the looks
