I got an error message "You cannot change the Unwanted Christmas gift " when I update photos

You are able to add Photo's to Listings that have met reserve with bidding though each Listing is limited to 20 photo's each. - Cheers.

I'm having the exact same issue

"For Unwanted Christmas gift: You cannot change the Unwanted Christmas gift on an auction that has bids."

This is the error message.

You won't be able to change the Listing from the Unwanted Christmas gift, these are loaded in a different category in the system enabling Members to select the Unwanted Listings only. 

Are you trying to add photo's also?

If the item doesn't sell you can relist it as a normal Listing - Cheers.

I'm not trying to change that, I'm trying to add photos and that is the error message it is giving.
There is not even the option in 'edit listing' to change anything to do with Christmas item, this is clearly a bug.

Ran a couple of tests.

I was able to edit an existing auction to add more photos.

I was able to create a new listing and then edit to add more photos.

I don't have any listings in the unwanted gift category to check those.

My guess that's where the glitch is. The Unwanted Gift category must have been removed (maybe even today?) which is causing an issue. Trying to edit something, even adding photos, and it doesn't like it because it no longer exists.

Are you using the Desktop site or the App?

Ensure you are running the latest up to date App &/Or Browser version.

If Yes! you can try Uninstalling & Reinstalling the App. - on the Desktop Clear your Cookies & Cache and try again.

Often these troubleshooting steps clear the initial trouble you are having. - I'm not aware of widespread issues although a Member a few days back using the App was able to add photo's after Reinstalling the App - Cheers.

S - I have tried on both app and browser, with the same issue. The issue is not at my end.

I have solved it with a trade me staff. Try to chat with them via chatting pop-up. Cheers

It is Afterhours now - the Chat Team will be manned from 9:30:am - 5:00pm tomorrow 2 Feb 2024,

Select the Contact us Link at the bottom of any TM page, give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing.

I sent my photos to the staff and finally the staff uploaded them. But the staff also had same error message as me so did something behind. They will be following up with their technic team about the issue. Cheers.

Just confirming I also have this error for a $1 reserve auction. It wasn't ever listed as an unwanted christmas gift and I can't even see an option to change that setting anyway.

Sorry to read this happened to you on a non Christmas gift Listing - TM have confirmed to me this afternoon the issue isn't yet resolved though the Tech Team are working on it, perhaps changes to resolve thus far have thrown that out for you Or it's a Bug with all $1.00 Reserve Listings? - Meantime get a hold of the CE Staff via Live Chat and they will upload your additional photo's through the back end for you - Fingers crossed this is resolved asap!
