Hello DEIRDRE E It is the seller who sets up the shipping costs. They can decide if they combine or not.
Some sellers don't do it at all
Some have a nominal charge of $1.00 or something
Some, like me, have $0.00
If they don't have an option there for combined shipping then you can ask them if they will add it.

For me as a trader it depends on the size of the item, I sell a lot of clothing while one item may fit into a small post bag ($6.35) two items wont, and it may have to go into a larger bag which is $10.00.
I generally put can combine postage where possible. If you are ever unsure, then the question box is great place to ask.

Have tried to buy 1 item for full and then purchase a second same item for combined postage, alas the trader will not allow that, so I am buying two items at
$7.07 each and then $8.32 each for postage. Only when the same item has a $6.99 variety and a $7.07 variety can you have full and combined postage. Does anyone understand ? :-)0 -

I don't understand that either, so you are not alone Deirdree. Might pay to ask the seller to clarify as it sounds very strange.
