Why are buyers addresses not sent by default?
AnsweredWhy are buyers addresses not sent by default?
It's a warm day in Hell when a buyer advises me of their address prior to payment.
A good many times it is because they have a RD address which they try and fudge.
Funnily enough though, at present, I have three items packaged and paid for, but no addresses...

I feel your pain,
One buyer wanted combined shipping, I asked her to please send your address via Trade Me Not in E-Mail so I can confirm Shipping
Response :
Yes Carol I will be happy to do this, however as I have won two of your auctions, I need to know the total cost of shipment please.
Some just have no idea we need an address so we know where we are sending, as may need an alternative carrier, or indeed it may be Rural, I do not just give a quote,
Some argue Trade Me has sent it, when they bid or accept a FPO,
I have quite a few at moment I am waiting on Addresses,

Some people have more than one shipping address, so they are not sent automatically. (As an example someone may live rural but may prefer some parcels go to a work address in the city).

flossy63 Community Superuseryes they can go automatically,as when you place your bid you choose your address where you want parcel sent before you confirm, some of us only want addresses sent via Trade Me and Not in E-Mail,as address is automatically sent when you use a buy now, and we would like every winning bid have their address sent Automatically, as so much time wasted chasing up addresses, especially when they have paid and we cannot send,0

How can I get the buyer of my auction he won to send his address through to me. I have emailed him twice, but no reply yet and it has been nearly a week. It is quite a large parcel but I only know he's in New Plymouth.

Have you checked on Trademe Pauline in case it's been sent through Trademe and you missed it? If they have sent it through Trademe, it will show on the sold auction page as Delivery address in the standard site sold page
Or on the new site you have to click in to the auction and show the address directly.
Another thing to do is, assuming you have checked your email spam folder and that they have paid, is to place a positive feedback saying "Thanks for your payment. Order is packed and ready for delivery. I have emailed several times asking for your delivery address but no replies? Can you please let me know address to send to? Thanks"
You can also try googling their name and you might find their address or their socials to make contact.
Last thing would be to contact Trademe and ask them to give the buyer another prod.

ALL of this is easily fixed by Compulsory Address when selecting shipping options with the option of an alternative address, (alternative addy, which is a current feature
Think about it, You have just brought an item, sitting at/with your computer (ph/ tablet etc), ON the Trademe website, selecting a shipping option for the item you have just purchased .. .. .. ... ONE more step to include an Address.
If doing auto bidding, preselect a delivery address on your TM account.0 -
Yep, this old issue is STILL HERE.
Most of TM is on compulsory address at purchase time, Except Auction listings.
TM claims it's because of people placing a bid this week on an auction but moving location later in the week as they travel around NZ and need to constantly change a delivery address.
It's a real pain because I have to go back in to emails to find IF they sent the address and then write it manually on a printout or email them to get an address etc etc0
