How to cancel the trade after I won a listing?
I can only pay the seller in cash but he doesn't accept paying in cash (but on the listing, paying in cash was an option). I haven't paid the seller. I have sent an email to let him know that I can only pay in cash and if that's not an option, he can cancel the deal and relist the item. But he hasn't replied to me yet.
Is there anything I can do to cancel the trade?

There is no way to cancel a trade as such. I would just wait on their reply. Seems strange they had cash as an option on the listing but have since changed their mind. Not your fault they have changed the T & C of the auction after you won it.

Thank you, Gary. I feel like there is nothing for me to lose because I haven't paid anything yet. I just don't want to waste everyone's time. Is there any potential risk for me to not proceed with this trade?

The risk is that the seller will place negative feedback, but if you have allowed 3 or 4 days for a reply email and they have definitely confirmed they are changing the terms of the auction so you can't pay cash as stated on the listing, then not much you can do. You could place a neutral feedback now saying something along the lines of... I won the auction and wanted to pay cash as listed on the auction payment options, but after winning, the seller advised they did not want to accept cash, so I could unfortunately not complete the trade.

: ( Thank you, Gary. The seller seems to be a nice person without any negative feedback. I hope he can understand my situation. Thanks for helping me with this.

Kia Ora Amanda,
There is No Risk to you Trading on the platform by not completing this Trade due to the fact your Seller changed the T&C's, as Gary has advised. - The Seller may blacklist you though I doubt you would be wanting to bid on any further items of theirs. - If you receive an email from TM you can state what has happened here and I presume you have the email correspondence as evidence therefore you are fine.
If you wanted to you could place a Dispute resolution from your Won items contesting the change of Terms post purchase though you may just choose to look elsewhere for your item(s) instead and save yourself further hassles.
Happy Trading - Cheers 😊

Thank you for your detailed explanation on this issue, S.

Amanda, is it not possible to make a deposit into the bank that the seller has provided account details for ? I have done this before internet banking and smart phones became mainstream. You just go into the bank of the seller eg if his bank is ASB then go to the closest ASB branch for you and ask to make a manual deposit to the persons account, provide the Name if known and account number.

A lot of banks do not accept over the counter payments into an account that is not yours anymore,
this change was a while back now, only option these days is an Internet Transfer or cash on Pick up,
