Refunded buyer but Dispute proceeding
AnsweredI sold some seeds to a buyer who received a ripped empty envelope Damn NZ Post I sent another lot which she claimed she never got. She got nasty so I refunded her payment on Ping in full. This was not the end she put in a dispute claim. I ignored it cause I was sure trade me would see I have refunded her. Today I get a second email from Trademe saying is hasnt been sorted and they are escalating her claim. I have spend hours trying to find some way of talking or chatting with someone from Trademe. There are no subjects in the help that can help the seller it appears all for the buyer. Can someone please help me The chat isnt working

Hi Steve. You don't need to worry. As you have refunded her Trade Me will see that when the dispute filters through far enough that a human actually looks at it. The first few stages are automated.
Trade Me are currently experiencing difficulties getting disputes sorted in a timely manner. For now I would just put it to the back of your mind and wait it out. If you get a reply-able email along the way, you can reply to that and confirm you have made a refund to the buyer.

Thankyou. It. Is frustrating trying to get hold of someone to listen. This buyer has harassed me so much I have blocked her

Cheers Steve,
Sorry to read of the hassles you've encountered with that Trade,
TM will be interested in learning of this behaviour from your Buyer, when you do get through to that channel, be sure to let them know enabling them to investigate your Buyer's account more thoroughly and note accordingly, you have all email correspondence as evidence, to use them here may go a long way towards helping future Members who encounter this person.
To get through to staff on "Live Chat" - Once you've selected the Contact us Chat Tab you need to give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue with a black speech bubble at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing.
The manned hours weekdays are 9:30:am - 5:00pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pmEnsure you put the Listing number(s) in your Chat window enabling staff to pull these up easily. - Cheers.1 -

Small Paper type items I gave up trying to sending in envelopes, too many saying not received, and as no proof, I had to refund,
so I changed to Courier only for urban addresses, and only offered Standard post to Rural addresses Only, as not viable to pay courier for said items to Rural addresses,
guess what, no more claims of not being received?, as items only tracked to urban,
did you get a photo of the so called ripped open envelope to see if it in fact was ripped by a franking machine, or looked like it had been opened by a person?,
be careful some just want refunds and freebies,
I would offer shipping with Courier & If they ask & want sent in an envelope as cheaper and not received, no refund, it is at their own risk,

I tried that but it doesnt turn out to be at their risk if they dont turn up or buyer says didnt turn up then as far as trademe go we dont appear to have rights as a seller

Correct. No such thing as at your risk these days I'm afraid. This is even enshrined in law for in-trade sellers, it's not just Trade Me.
I only have one line left now that I send in envelope. And like you I have found that reports of non delivery and slow delivery have increased exponentially for this method. As many as 3 out of 10 don't seem to make it. I find it helps to tape the item onto the inside of the envelope. You can even tape around the edges of the envelope as well. This is because the automatic sorting machine they use now gets a bit overenthusiastic with anything except paper in standard envelopes.

If standard letter rate is not an option on Auction, but buyer asks via E-Mail, it is buyers risk, not sellers,
as seller does not offer it on auction, so it is the buyer is taking the risk,
It is a personal request by buyer via E-Mail, that takes it out of sellers hands, as they are changing the conditions of the auction,
same as a buyer changing delivery address/redirecting the parcel after it as been send by seller to address that was supplied to them, buyer has changed the conditions, it is no longer the sellers responsibility,
