Buyer account appears to be inactive - what's going on?

I believe the last log in just shows activity on the desktop version of the website, not the app. Or at least it used to. 

As for the e-mail address I don't think that would affect the ability to trade. It would have only been needed when setting up the account....

Without a current email address I have no way of getting in touch with the buyer. 

They have no comments following trades (if any) since their last log in perhaps indicating no trades since then?

Sorry, yes the e-mail address is a problem for you. I just mean that trademe don't regularly check that e-mail addresses are still active and accounts can continue to operate without a working e-mail address. 

Further investigation shows this may well be a hacked account and buy now scam involving 'freight forwarding' what ever that is - it was a buy now sale.

Sorry to read what's happening there,

Given suspicion this could be a Hacked account keep your eye on your emails for 1 from TradeMe confirming this. - Don't enter any other emails which may come through, click on any links or reply to any that you don't recognise and are not expecting. 

If you haven't got confirmation from TradeMe by the morning you can contact a staff member through their Live Chat facility during manned hours or leave a message afterhours. 

The  "Live Chat" manned hours weekdays are 8:am - 6:30pm and weekends 8:30am - 4:pm

- Once you've selected the Contact us Chat Tab you need to give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing. - This Tab will say Help in afterhours mode.
