Uploading multiple listings with CSV file - TM can't find photos after I upload them
AnsweredFirst I created a listing manually, then exported it as a CSV file to give me a template. I uploaded a dozen photos to My Photos (one at a time, which was most annoying - separate question: is there no bulk upload option?)
I then copied and pasted the filenames from my photos to the "photos" cells in the CSV file, observing the formatting in the template I'd created from the live listing, to make sure the syntax etc. was correct.
Photo 'F9L10S-2.jpg' not found in your account. Please upload photos before assigning them to products|Photo 'F9L10S-1.jpg' not found in your account. Please upload photos before assigning them to products
Yet all files are there when I look, and the filenames match.
I had similar bother earlier in the year and that problem seemed to resolve itself, but I can't remember how! If I can get some guidance I'll be sure to write it down this time.

Martin. You need to upload the photos via the Photo upload tool (Step 1 button) on the My Products import page. This puts them in the correct place, and yes, you can select multiple photos to upload all at once. I think I have done up to 100 previously.

Marvellous - thanks. What's odd is that when I used the tool and uploaded all 12 in one go just now, I looked in My Photos and there they were alongside the ones I'd uploaded manually yesterday, with just a change of caps to lower-case throughout. I get that this works, and I'll do it this way in future, but still mystified why the system was unable to locate them in what seems to be the same file location.

I think you'll find if you open the photos so show the actual file location in the url, you'll see they are in different places. The MP ones will be on google storage, and the My Photos ones are on TM CDNs.

Doesn't appear to be the case. One of yesterday's manual uploads:
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/[filename.jpg]And this morning's via the bulk uploader:

MP is a bit different. MP photos (well all of mine) are stored in https://storage.googleapis.com/prod-photo-store-bucket/ filenumber, and they get referenced to listings from there when the product is listed. It depends where you look at the filename. If you look within MP ie view it in a product, right click and view image in new tab, it will be a filenumber in the google storage system. The same photo when viewed in the desktop my trademe / my photos gives the filename. Anyway, if you stick to uploading through MP the files will always reference correctly.

I found yesterday that if I copied and pasted the entire URL as above into the cell of my CSV file it would work - but that was going to be so time-consuming it would be faster just to copy and update old listings, which has been my usual approach. But the realisation that there had to be a simpler way led me to post here this morning, and I'm pleased I did - thanks once again.
