Ping refunds - does the buyer have to accept it for it to be refunded?
AnsweredI want to pull out of a sale as the buyer is being troublesome and, at best, would give non-positive feedback or, most likely negative feedback. The courier hasn't delivered it yet so, if I can get the courier to not deliver the item and return it to me at my cost will I be able to issue a refund via ping (which is how they paid) or will they have to accept the refund?

If a buyer has paid with Ping, you can issue a refund via Ping at any time up to 45 days after close of auction. If you are not going to complete, ie stop it from being delivered, you would need to explain to the buyer and then to Trademe why. Of course the buyer may be unhappy and make a complaint.
If you issue a refund, the buyer does not need to do anything to accept it. It will go to them automatically without any involvement from them needed if you refund via Ping. It will go to their Ping account, but they may need to transfer it manually to their bank account if they don't have it set to do this automatically.
