Buyer wants to pay by instalment
AnsweredHi, a buyer with bad feedback and a history off this problem has won my car auction. He wants to pay the car off and pick it up now. I have said no to paying it off and told him he can't pay one payment and pick up. He does not have the money to buy it and will pay some more next week. I can't do this. I have heard nothing back from him since last night. All he said was (Thanku) I want to offer to the other bidders or do I have to wait for a few days to see if he can get the money together. He should not be bidding if he does not have the money.

Hi Susan, thanks for posting. On the basis that payment over a period of time was not a payment option offered on your auction, you can move on and offer the car to other bidders if you wish. The buyer is not meeting the terms of the trade by saying they plan to pay it off.
However if you do want to allow the current winner a bit of extra time to get the money together to pay, that's up to you and you can do that.0 -
Thank you. I will wait a couple of days. When these trades pop up, concern is always negative feedback.

Susan, you should go ahead and place a negative feedback now and mention in the feedback that you'll modify it to positive if they complete the trade within 48 hours. If they place a retaliatory negative feedback on you, you can get Trade Me to remove their feedback.
