Editing a Buy Now only listing
AnsweredI have tried editing both the Product and the listing - but both refuse to be edited to my original Product of auction only- without Buynow

It appears that you have to relist then apply for a refund of fees. Why the change thing that aren't broken is stupid.

You can't update a current listing that was created as a Buy Now only, IF there has been a sale from the current listing. The product can be adjusted to be an auction rather than Buy Now only, but it won't change the current listing until it finishes and relists, at which time it will relist as an auction if that's how you have set it.

Hi Bruce, generally you can add a photo by editing your listing, however the exact steps can vary based on the type of listing and the device you are using. I’d recommend having a go from the full site first. Let me know how you get on.

I have the exact issue. Need an auction to run but with a buy now option. The auctuon parameters were somehow wiped on setup and has been listed now with buy now only option which is NOT what I need or want and no recourse unless I withdraw and forfeit my list fees!! Trademe this is not fair at all as it was your system break down.

Hi Susannah, you are welcome to withdraw it, then contact our friendly Customer Experience team and they can help out with the fees and relisting

I'm also having the same problem as well.

Thanks Mac for confirming this. Seems a bit hit and miss in this regard as I've previously managed to change buy now listings to auctions with the buy now function retained.

If you want to sell by negotiation only, then that's what's called a Classified listing. You can only do that for certain type of items in certain categories eg Vehicles, real estate, businesses for sale etc. If the Classified option is available when creating a listing in a particular category, you can choose to list that way, else you need to list as an auction with a start price, optional hidden reserve price, optional Buy Now, or as a simple Buy Now only listing. If listing via the mobile app, you can also add an option to add offers and counter offers available.

A listing today 4166178482 needs investigating.
It had a start price of $10,000 and a buy now of $12,000
It had 18 watches including myself.
It was due next Tuesday morning 13 June.
This morning the Buy Now was changed to $11,000 to match an offer give in a question.
The sale was quickly concluded
Is this a fair trade and should it have been allowed.?
Cheers

Until the reserve price has been met by bidders, the seller is allowed to edit anything in the auction, including price and Buy Now. All perfectly legit. The best thing to do to not miss out is to place a bid.

This trade only had a start price and a buy now price.
It did not have a known reserve price.
This does not seem to be a fair trade?
Cheers

Not sure why you don't think it's fair? Many auctions have a start price, an undisclosed reserve and a Buy Now. It's a very common way of listing. Seller can also have an offers function on the auction if using the mobile app and interested parties can make an offer, which can be accepted, ignored, or counter offered, until reserve has been met.

There were 18 watches to this trade.
The fair thing is to allow the auction to run its course with honest bidding by all parties.
That is what a TradeMe auction is all about.
The seller and TradeMe may have done themselves out of a better price.
TradeMe now has some funny rules.

I'm having the same issue and it won't let me add a reserve price as ive started with a buy now. So frustrating.
