How to tell if you've been paid
AnsweredHi team,
I'm looking after someone's listings, but don't have access to their email (so don't receive their TM updates). In order to send items I need to see if someone has paid. If they've paid with ping that shows up, but otherwise am I right in thinking if their address is now showing up they have paid? I don't want to risk sending without payment! Thank you!

I'd trust Trade Me on this, as long as the payment shows up in my Ping or AfterPay balance, I'll ship the product. So far so good. And yes, the address showing up means nothing.
I'm still using the old Sold page, it's easier to see the payment there, but I won't go into the details here since Trade Me is already switching to the new Sold page, not sure how payment look like in the new page.

Arthur, on the new sold page it shows as Paid with Ping just alongside the sold $ amount. I use the old sold page too, but if you want to see what the new one looks like, go to your old page and click the Mobile icon, bottom right.

Thanks Gary, that also means OP should be able to see the payment details on top of the original (now sold) listing page, if they have access to the seller's account.

L, maybe you're right, OP could be referring to other modes of payment. BUT, Trade Me only shows payment received from Ping (plus email) and AfterPay (no email). Trade Me can never tell whether a bank transfer payment has been completed. Hmmm...now, I'm confused...haha

Hi Arthur. There is an email to the seller when someone pays using Afterpay, just like there is for Ping.

Thanks everyone! Yes 'otherwise' means a method that isn't Ping. Ping very clearly says paid by Ping, but if they've done a bank transfer it doesn't directly say, which makes sense but I was wondering if there was a way around that. Obviously not, all good!

that's from me Kahu (:

Gary-NZStocked, that's interesting, I've never received that email. The payment mode is always mentioned in the first "Purchase complete..." email, and I'll received a second "Ping Payment Received" email, but no second payment received email for AfterPay.

Arthur, It will only be an option if you also have bank transfer as an option and they buyer chooses to pay later on, rather than a purchase and pay at the same time.
