Not receiving Trade Me confirmation email when I've sold an item
AnsweredI noticed over the last few days my auctions are expring without any emails from Trade Me which I rely on to stay informed. Same with a recent sale of a computer component; I had to apologise to the buyer because I didn't notice the sale for a few days (no email again.) All my account settings seem correct. I have asked Trade Me about it on the contact form but can anyone offer a clue?

Hi there everyone. Sorry to read this. It's such a pain when emails you rely on aren't received.
From time to time, some email clients may filter messages from us to your Junk or Spam folder – especially if you’ve got a number of notifications about Watchlist items coming to you daily. It sounds strange but this can happen all of a sudden, even if you've been receiving them just fine for a long time. It’s a good idea to add @trademe.co.nz to your safe sender list so you don’t miss anything.
Hopefully that will do the trick.

How about trade me fix the issue and stop blaming things on our end? Obviously a few of us that have been using the same email address since we started our accounts are having issues and it’s just become a new thing. Thanks Chris for letting us know we can use a gmail account. I just wish trade me would do something about it

Me too. My last couple of auctions that I won, suddenly no emails.
Already had mailer@trademe.co.nz in my safe list, have added the others (noreply@trademe.co.nz
and support@trademe.co.nz) to the safe list but the emails just stopped about 3-4 days ago out of the blue.No filters or blocking on the email accounts. Nothing was changed on my account just no longer receiving the emails.

Hi Hayley, the only solution for me was to change the email address in my trade me preferences to a Gmail account from my usual Yahoo one. Then I installed email forwarding filters to get everything sent over to my Yahoo address for convenience.
I am sure there is a problem at the Trade Me end as I used Yahoo flawlessly for years without any problem. My attempts to whitelist the trade me sources (by adding them as Yahoo contacts) made no difference. And the Trade Me emails were not going into spam or deleted baskets, just never arriving.

Thanks for the information Chris, will probably have to do this! Hayley I agree with you TradeMe should fix the problem not us, I don’t want another email account. I have had my TradeMe account since 2006 no problems until now, not really good enough. What has changed TradeMe??? They should be looking after us if they want our business, no wonder more people are using Facebook Marketplace.

I have just had the issue of not receiving any emails from TM for new listings fav listings, offers or questions for 3 days. There was another newer post regarding this (which has since been removed because of this post). After a chat with TM buy the original poster it was discovered that there email address may have been added to what TM calls a spam complaints list. When removed the poster got their emails again. For me after chatting with TM all my emails appeared in my spam folder marked as spam. I remarked them as not spam and all new emails arrived in my Inbox. I have a Yahoo address just wondering if this issue is only affecting Yahoo.

Me again. So no emails notifying me that I have sold 2 x items over the last couple of days. However I receive all promo emails asking me to book a courier etc...
Trademe, this is an issue at your end. I have never touched my trademe email notification settings and have been member for 22 years. You seriously need to escalate this to your IT area.3 -
Thanks Lucy, but there seems to be a problem still. I did not receive Trade Me emails about 2 questions on the following auction time stamped Tuesday Dec 7. I did eventually see notifications (not emails) about them. Also the time stamping seems wrong; my reply is also stamped Tuesday although I did it today (Wed.) My computer date/time is correct.

Thanks Lucy, this is a mystery. The address mailer@trademe.co.nz is definitely in my Yahoo contacts list, which is Yahoo Mail's whitelist. Nothing has appeared in my spam folder. I cannot find a Yahoo setting that might be deleting the incoming mails - please advise if you know of one (I have googled already and nothing shows up)
About the time stamp, the time until auction closes is correct, just the stamp on the auction questions/replies seems wrong. It does not concern me unless it is related to the emails not arriving.

I changed the email account for my notifications and mostly it is working but NOT for this auction I won I received no notification email that I had won and the auction is date stamped Sunday Dec 5 on my PC which is not correct.

I’m having the same problem so there must be an issue because I never had a problem but for over a month I haven’t received any emails regarding questions on my auctions, emails once my auctions have sold and now I’m not receiving emails when I have won an auction

I’m having the same problem, don’t receive any emails from TradeMe when someone has purchased as for questions about my listings, who knows? I have been using the same email address since starting with TradeMe. They used to go to my spam mail, now I don’t even get that. Last four or five sales received nothing.

Jillian, you can set up a new gmail account and set it as your Trade Me email account. Then set your Gmail account to redirect all incoming mail to your original email account. (I am using gmail in this example because I know it is easy to redirect). This does not solve the original problem but is a good workaround.

I’ve just experienced the same issue with an item sold 2 days ago.
I have a Gmail account and have sold 3 items in the last two weeks. No issues with the first two, no email notification for the third (I checked Spam too).
I emailed the buyer anyway, but as yet, have not had a reply (the buyer has excellent feedback) so I’m worried they haven’t received a formal notification either and may not even be aware they won the auction.
I have since purchased an item and received notifications - it’s just this one auction that’s playing up.

Happening to me with a hotmail account I've been using with trademe since year 2000.... pissing me off.

That's great; Hey Trade Me (Lucy?) please check if my email address has also gone to the TradeMe ‘spam complaints list’. That would explain a lot.

I'm the same - just realised that I've not actually received any trademe emails since early December - I'm with hotmail and have not had any issues with Trademe emails since I started using this email - and that's been 15+ years (I think). Nothing is in my spam and if Trademe can check that my email isn't on the spam complaints list that would be awesome. It's a bit frustrating when you don't realise that your auctions have finished cause you haven't received the emails.

Hi, it now been a month since Trademe fixed my problem, email taken from spam folder at Trademe. Put in the safe sender emails as requested. Finally got an email that said a listing I was waiting was due. Thought everything was fine but no purchased something yesterday no emails from Trademe. It seems like it is happening to a lot of people and I don't want to change my email address! Getting fed up with this ongoing issue! Have emailed Trademe again.

I have stopped receiving any TradeMe email a few days ago. They are not ending up in spam folder and mailbox is not full (there's almost a TB free space). I have trademe.co.nz whitelisted. Treat Me emails are still coming through but BidBud emails are not.

Good luck at getting this solved. It has been happening to me for months. Nothing trademe has asked me to do works. It is their problem. Your emails go to the trademe spam folder and it keeps doing it. They want you to get another email provider which I have refused to do. All I can say is luckily I don’t sell a lot on trademe!

Cat, there is a link to the Trade Me Contact Us page above in a message from Hamish. I believe Live Chat is also useful for sorting out problems. In my experience you do get a response.

Hi Cat,
They may reply to you on this page about this. Or you can contact them, at the bottom of this page is a contact us.

With Outlook. Not receiving notifications/emails from
- favourites
- items sold and unsold
- questions on items we have for sale (appear on our selling page but NOT in our emails).
Have added addresses to our safe senders list as suggested by Trademe (ie mailer@trademe.co.nz etc) - no change.
This happened about a week go - we had not made any changes to our Trademe account before this problem occurred.
Have asked Trademe to check that we are not in their spam folder.
There is obviously a lot of frustration out there from people who have been with Trademe for a number of years. They need to sort this out!!!
A great problem for Fair Go to look into! Have sent this to live chat as well. Awaiting a reply.

Haha. look in the help section, type ``live chat'' in the search box and you'll find it is not always available, it appears as a bubble on the Contact Us page ONLY when someone is available.
So maybe try emailing questions to get someone's attention first. Start at HELP section, I suggest.

No notifications from Trade Me for 2 - 3 weeks. Why has this stopped?
