Missing Description
AnsweredI'm sorry but I find your website confusing. I started a number of auctions on Sunday and entered some detailed descriptions for each one. Checking the auctions now, I can't see that description on either the website or the app. Could you please take a look behind the scenes and make the description visible. Thank you.

Hi Irfon, Thanks for posting in Community!
This is the kind of issue that would be best suited for our team to look at directly since we will need to review what's going on. If you head over to this page and look for the blue chat box, you can chat with someone in real time who can look into this for you. You'll just need to let them know which of your auctions this is happening on and they can take things from there.

Im also having the same problem with my descriptions missing which is frustrating as i list quite a few. In order to get a description on i have to list it with none then edit the listing once its live? How can i fix this?

Hi everyone, for those of you experiencing this on Android, there is a fix for this issue that is available on the latest app update. Remove and reinstall the latest version and this should be all good.

I can't see item descriptions on third-party listings with the new layout - just title, picture, and then add to watchlist and pricing. I'm using Firefox on a desktop (Win 10). This just seems to have started in the past few days, and applies to all sellers, not just one or two.

Yes, I have had the same problem a lot recently, including this morning. If you look at the status bar it will usually say waiting for api. Sometimes it just sits there waiting until you go somewhere else and come back. It's also logging me out often on the new site. Usually another page refresh fixes but it's so slow. I'm using Edge at the moment. Std desktop site is still quick and no problems, but mobile site is painfully slow.

Hiya, thanks for posting. Are you both still experiencing this? It would be helpful to see a screenshot if possible.

Thanks, Lucy, a day or so later I accidentally clicked on someething (not sure what, sadly!) and the page resolved itself into the more usual format with pic at left, title at right and details below. Previously everything had been arranged in rows with no sign of any description.
I didn't get any screenshots but I'll be sure to do so if it happens again.

Hi Lucy. Happens from time to time for me, eg just now as per SS below, but a while later it comes back. It's usually a matter of clicking somewhere, or waiting waiting..... I wasn't quick enough to grab the waiting for api message, but will try next time.

That's actually quite different to what I got - there was no mention of "description" or anything in my case, with all the elements arranged in a single column (so no left-hand titles as in Gary's picture above).

It's happening to me only when it's processing the link info from a fav search/seller email. Once it's taken me to a page from the email link there is a lag, but from then on if I click on sellers other listings, it's ok. It seems to be just the initial processing of the email link in to it's analytics that's causing the delays.

Happening often this morning...
Even on help pages too.
Then after a while, comes right.

I may have discovered at least part of a clue to what's going on - if the page breaks into rows and loses all the descriptive content as I described above, reducing the page size on-screen seems to fix it. I normally have my browser set to 120%, and taking it down to 110% or 100% restores the normal format again. Increase it -> back to rows and missing descriptions again. Thing is, it doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, I at least appear to have a temporary fix.
Now we just need to stop it from happening in the first place somehow. (And no, I'm not going to work on a smaller screen permanently just to hide the symptoms!)
