NZ Post / CourierPost Trade Me allocation
I'm curious to know why Trademe have a quota for NZ Post/CourierPost , when its still possible to book via the NZ Post website. Surely this is the same company/same courier driver, so why limit bookings through Trademe Book a courier?
Could I also suggest that Trademe remove the ability for items not sold on Trademe to be booked through book a courier, because this undoubtedly has a negative impact on Trademe sellers trying to book NZ Post Courier.

I guess the same reason all businesses have been limited. Anyone who holds a business account with NZpost has limits on them at present. Including me. I do get what you are saying, but basically it was "easiest" for NZPost to limit their big users. TradeMe would be one of the biggest. They would just have to put a blanket limit on customers, they can't drill down into individual members using that service.

As above with Gregs post,
Trade Me should block the option for those selling outside Trade Me, and on places like Facebook they should not be using the Book a Courier option at this time, and let those that sell on Trade Me paying fees have the quota, which at the moment as the way it is getting blocked, It is penalizing those Trade Me sellers who sell on the site,
Only option should be is to only allow bookings from a sold auction page,
Let the Facebook sellers and like go to the NZ post site, They are not paying Trade me fees, and should not be getting the Trade Me rates, where some are cheaper,

Why is that NZ Post couriers disappear of the book a courier page QUOTAS?? I prefer them to Aramex as have had numerous problems with ARAMEX.
I'm trying to send parcels to customers .
Many thanks

NZpost are inundated with parcels due to covid-19. Volumes have gone crazy. Bigger than Christmas. They are limiting volumes right across their system. It isn't just TradeMe, all sellers/senders are affected. Apparently the trick is to try first thing at 9am, then when their quota for the day is filled they disappear.

Hi Sylvia. Courierpost are extremely busy and border movement restrictions and the general Covid situation is slowing down the service they can provide. eg for regular testing, extra precautions etc. Rather than accept parcel bookings 24/7 they are limiting the "window" when bookings can be made to reduce the freight in the system to keep their service standards within limits to avoid delivery disappointments. Everyone seems to be buying online these days so business has increased over 80% they say.
Not sure how long the booking window is open for. but they seem to open up for bookings just on 9am if you wanted to try again then.
Edited: Unfortunately due to delays in Trademe approving posts before they are visible, I have repeated what Callum said above as his post was not visible when I posted.

Booking a courier and NZ POST
I booked a courier for an item not sold via trademe. I had a choice of amarex and nz post. I chose nz post. Yes, it said there might be an extra day delay..that's ok. The parcel was not collected on the day designated nor the next 2 days. By chance an nzpost courier turned to deliver sthg else and he informed me that NZ POST NO LONGER DO TRADEME PICKUPS...trademe should remove the nz post option from booking a courier options if this is the case.0 -

The driver that said NZ POST NO LONGER DO TRADEME PICKUPS is not correct. I get pickups for items booked with NZ Post via Book a Courier almost every day. You need to let NZ Post know their driver is misinformed, or not doing their job correctly.
Did the driver take your parcel, or did they leave it? Either way, get on to NZ Post about it.

The driver was not meant to do pickups but talked to his boss straight away and kindly took my pacjage. He was informed by his boss that nzpost (palmerston north) weren't doing trademe pickups from this week.

Hi Adele. Have you seen this driver before? I think you might have struck a temporary waged driver. We have one of these at present. They are just paid to help with deliveries and aren't meant to be doing pick-ups. So he/she was perhaps correct on a personal level, but I doubt it would mean no pick-ups fullstop.

Trying to book parcels real hassle if they can do the job add other couriers that can pass the parcal or any of the others they all do the same job

EDWARD You can still use pass the parcel normally if you wish. They still have a TradeMe integration. You can see how that works at the link below. While there are only 2 couriers on Trade Me it doesn't mean others weren't approached. Really Aramex and NZPost are probably the only 2 that have extensive residential delivery networks anyway. Most of the others are more specialised these days. Post Haste and NZcouriers for example have a residential delivery surcharge that would make them bad choices for the average Trade Me buyer or seller.

We have had great difficulty with NZ Post.
Trying to get an item to an elderly Customer and we are a private individual with a Residential pick up.
NZ Post shops refuse to accept us taking in the time claiming it's 'Oversize'
It's measurements, 125 cm height x 19cm x 65cm and weighing 2.83kg.
Can't get a label from our Post shop.
Can't work NZ Post Courier system
If anyone would be able to help, Auckland pick up to Whangarei, please see our listings and send us a message via Ask a Question, as we would dearly like to get this item delivered.
Incidentally, NZ Post call centre and NZ Post Shops, including Franchises like Paper Plus are NOT on the same page.
NZ Post Depots are still operating under Covid 19 Level 4 Lockdown settings with NO drop offs by he public accepted.
So much for acting with Good Faith and adherence to Her Majesty's services in little ole NZ

harold Your item is indeed "oversize", there's probably no courier companies that will deliver it for you, this is not a NZ Post issue. You'll need a freight company to deliver that at a much higher fee.

Yes, as Arthur says you need to get that down to less than 0.125m3 for any courier to take it. You're not toooooo far off. If for example you can get it down to 100cm x 65cm x 19cm you will make it. As would 125cm x 50cm x 19cm. Is there any part of the item you can remove? Two separate parcels would also be sendable if you really can't reduce the volume of the parcel.

Why is posting service so expensive via Trademe. It's seriously putting me off purchasing through Trademe in the future.

It’s much cheaper using ishipping, it’s a website that you can link to your trademe account, to make all your NZ Post and courier bookings. It’s significantly cheaper as Trademe add a massive markup to the prices couriers charge

Hello Petrina. Courier costs have increased sharply over the last few years. However like with anything, it is your choice to buy something and pay the price the seller has stated. You can try other sellers if you feel the postage price is too expensive on the item you are looking at.
It wasn't that many years ago that I could send a DLE package for $2.34. Now its $4.90 for me, and that's still cheaper than what most sellers have to pay.

Petrina, I suggest looking through this thread, there is another option for courier which is a lot cheaper than booking using Trademe
