Hello Michael. It's up to you what to do next. If the seller has decent feedback and a good amount recent sales then you could just go ahead with it. The name match thing is very recent and plenty of trades have gone through OK in the past. If it's a higher value item, or something is telling you it's not quite right you would certainly be allowed to pull out of the deal. Given that they are not replying to you now, you might be right to have suspicions.
Do they have pick-up as an option? That's usually a good sign the seller is legitimate. You could even tell the seller you have decided you want to collect in person. Ask for their address and phone number. If those check out OK change your mind again back to delivery. A good way to get further contact details for if things do go wrong.
You could check in with Trade Me directly, to see if they have advice for you.

Good evening Michael. My post has gone into pending mode for now. Here is how it reads:

Jut adding that if you are copy/pasting the name across, make sure you haven't copied any hidden characters (spaces) as those could potentially affect the check. Try typing the name out rather than C/P. You could also see if you get a partial match by using the surname only.

Hi Callum - Thanks for that info - hadnt thought of that.
they have 87 feedbacks - all good and pickup was a option - no concerns there its just the bank saying there details dont match what they gave me - there bank ( 12 ) so im guessing thats ASB so i'll head to the branch tomorrow and ask if they can confirm details and show them the print out of there system saying not a match and see where to from there and if the bank tells me nothing then oh well - i tried

I think for privacy reasons they bank cannot confirm the details of the bank account. Did you get a partial match with the surname?

I'll still try asking the bank - even if they tell me nothing i still tried - I've also informed TM of the issue so i am covered there if things turn to custurd......and no - not even a partial match just a straight up " NOT A MATCH "

If you are using an app, try on a actual website, you may then get a partial match where you can continue,
it is the apps that sometimes cause issues, and give a different outcomes, I have had a couple of buyers saying that, once they have gone to the actual website no issues, and money has come through,
AJ is correct, the bank will not give out any details at all for privacy reasons, as I still use only my initials and the bank has said several times we do not have to put our full name in payment instructions for privacy reasons, as Trade Me advised us to do in our payment instructions, which I have raised in these forums when we got E-Mails from Trade Me telling us we had to do so, no we do not, it is a personal choice to do so, Initials are sufficient and will give a partial match (as Full name not spelt out but Initials are correct so it is a partial and that name does match the account number) where buyers can continue making payments,
Only time I would be concerned is on New Trade Me accounts lacking any feedback, If a seller has great feedback, and account is years old, they are not likely to start scamming etc. and you should feel comfortable to continue, like we always have, more concerning is those using places like Face book etc. where scammers tend to operate and give false names that do not match account numbers,
