Accidentally sent an item before payment
AnsweredHi
I sold an item on November 5th.
On Tuesday 8th November I email the buyer to ask when payment will be made, they email back and say they have just sent the payment and their delivery address. I say thank you and post the item the same day - trusting the buyer made payment. I always try to get items posted ASAP, and have posted items before the money has shown in my account, never had an issue as most people are honest. I check my bank account that evening - no money. I check it the next day - still nothing. I check my account today, nothing. I triple check, going through every single payment I have received since the date of November 5th, so i can be 100% sure i didn't miss the payment, but unfortunately... nothing.. item has already been sent. Unsure what to do. I understand I was stupid to send the item before payment, and it's not a big loss as it was only a $25 item. However im wondering if there is any seller protection?

I've done it dozens of times. I think in 99 out of 100 it's just a mistake by the buyer and they pay when they realise they haven't.
Just email them and say the payment didn't go through, please check at your end.
If your alarm bells are really ringing there is still the option of getting the courier to stop delivery, or redirect the parcel back to you. That is via courier though. You mention post. Might be harder depending what method you used.
