How to: Searching and finding Community Posts
Pinned FeaturedHi everyone! Following on from the enhancements update a few weeks back, we’ve put together some refresher tips on how to find existing posts that might already have the answer you need, or where you can add your question.
When you make a search in the Help centre, the search results will show both Help articles and Community posts with matching words by default. You can then select if you'd like to just see results from Help or Community on the left-hand side of the page:
From the front page of Community, you can also browse for posts rather than searching. By default, it will show the Topics on Community, so you can open up just the most relevant topic for you and see the posts there.
Alternatively, you can select to browse by posts, which will show the list of most recent posts:
At the bottom of the Posts you can select to “View all” which will take you to this page, where you have the option to sort the posts, on the left under 'Show all' you can sort by status, all, fix / update in progress, confirmed bug, resolved, answered and no status. On the right you can sort by recent activity, highest number of votes, highest number of comments, or the default of most recently posted.

Yes, several threads, complaining about the new-look, were deleted by Trade Me. (I noticed that had happened, as I had been following them.)
I spent hours on Saturday night, manually relisting many of my listings, one-by-one, as new listings, because a whole page of my unsold listings just would not relist. I clicked on the Edit on my Unsold page, and the small blank boxes appeared, but those auctions just would not relist! So, to find them, I had to go into my emails, type-in each listing-title, and then copy-paste the listing-title & details into each new (replacement) listing. So that was very frustrating & time-consuming.
About calculating shipping/postage, I have found that it is simpler and easier to put the details about that in the main body of my listing, and also state there that I am happy to combine postage. Recently, on one of my listings, and also that of some other TM members, when potential buyers have asked about how much the postage is, sellers have been unable to put numbers into the answer, as the robot, who is now monitoring that, wrongly assumes that sellers are trying to enter their phone-numbers, when they aren't, at all, but just genuinely trying to answer a potential buyer's question about the postage-amount!
Quite a few Trade Me members have commented on the very-annoying problem of not being able to see the number of views, watchers, or bids on their auctions, without clicking on each one, and that is happening with my listings as well.
With the new-look, all of my photos have been mucked-up, and that problem has been going on, with my listings, ever since July!
I have been a loyal member of Trade Me since 2015, but - because of the too-frustrating, time-consumng, endless and unresolved glitches & problems created because of the new-look - I have moved many of my listings away to FB from Trade Me, as I have found that it is just not worth the hassle to try to persevere with the new-look. In my opinion, the old-look was far superior.

We're happy to receive feedback, as you mentioned Bonnie you can give us feedback on the new-look site via 'Tell us what you think', that goes to the right team.
You can always contact us if you're experiencing issues with the site and we'll look into it. Some features aren't available for some listings, as we are making some changes in the background, we may have a workaround or you can ask the Community.

Hello Michelle, I have tried, many times - via the Contact Us, as well as the Tell us what you think - to explain all the various problems that have been happening with my Trade Me, but I have never been able to get any of those problems fixed, so they all remain still unresolved, which is extremely frustrating! I very rarely get any reply, at all, from anyone via the Tell us what you think, about what they are doing to resolve those problems. Some of the issues, that remain unresolved, go back quite a few months, to July 2024!
So, just how much longer is it going to take Trade Me to fix all the ongoing glitches and problems?
For example, how can the problem of mucked-up photos be fixed?
When will we, as Trade Me members, be able to see the number of views, watchers, & bids on our listings, without having to individually click on these?
Why can we no longer see the result of a lost auction (price it sold at)?
When will a few missing features - like quick relist - be restored? I was told, even this morning, by a Trade Me staff-member, that, in the meantime, I'll need to relist each of these listings from the listing page instead of from my unsold page. It took me many hours, over the weekend, to create new listings that way. I thought that we were told, a while ago (after a flurry of complaints on Community Post), that this problem (of being unable to do a quick relist) had been fixed. So, why is it broken again?

Many moons ago, Trade Me took down an entire thread because they said the issue has been dealt with. What it looked like is that they didn’t want the thread to get bad publicity m – and I don’t blame them the issue was contentious and ignored. I don’t feel that there is a budget For doing much work on that site. The new look website he’s been around years now and still contains issues that they know about and obviously consciously decided not to fix.

Hi L, thank you for letting me know about the Tell Us What You Think and its inability to reply. I have now decided to go through every one of my current 96 listings, and do the Tell Us What You Think, on each one of those, to tell them what exactly what I think about the new-look and how it has mucked-up my photos! So then the Tell Us What You Think section will then have 96 more complaints - in addition to their current workload - about the new-look! If everyone did that, on all of their listings affected by the new-look, maybe Trade Me would then take notice of all the complaints, and then do something to fix the many new-look problems!
I have gone through Contact Us, many times now, with many new-look problems & glitches, but have not yet come across anyone there who has been able to fix the various new-look problems that I have complained about.
So, I have decided to write a letter to Trade Me and also to make a formal complaint to the Commerce Commisssion, as the many still unresolved problems, about the new-look, have gone on long enough.

As anticipated, I got an email today scolding me for speaking the truth. They said my comment was deleted because it 'went against community standards' or something like that. Of course they're never specific and say what exactly you've said that violates any standard anywhere at any time.
I told them - among other things - that they were a selling platform not gatekeepers of free speech lol ... if they want to shut me up, they'd better be deleting my account altogether.
Funny because I still can't update my prices without editing a whole listing or see any stats on my new lists - and so it goes on.

I have twice contacted a seller about birds he is selling. I have contacted him through email and both times the birds he was advertising werent avaliable. As i didnt purchase anything, because although adverised, weren't available is there anyway i can put feedback on this seller?

Kia ora Jenni, you can report them through Community Watch at the bottom of the listing and the team will take a look. When a Seller lists something for sale they should have them available to buy, it's in our Ts and Cs 🙂
