Faulty goods but trademe wants to wait a week before contacting crooked trader
I was deliberately sent a dented heater in an intact opened box by a trader in Auckland. They cannot bring themselves to send me the sticker to send it back. My printer is not working to print the sticker out and I live 90+km round trip from the city. This am I get an email "fix the printer". I filed a report only to get an email from Trademe that it was not a week since purchase so they would not do anything until that time was up. It is WINTER people and I am in the South. Someone needs to get real over this. I have had a series of wonderful traders to deal with and am now into ratbags. Pity they have the system on Their side.

Sioban, once the courier booking is made, although your printer is not working, it's common to simply write all the details on the package ie address, phone number, tracking number, return address. If the seller sends you the courier ticket/label, copy everything on to a piece of paper and tape securely to the parcel, or write on the parcel directly. Once it's collected the driver will be able to manually enter the tracking number as a pickup confirmation.

Hi Siobhan, I was wondering whether you have a library nearby, as I don't have a printer, at all, but I was able to use my local library's computer, to do a print-out, from there, to use on a parcel.

yes but since Dunedin became the gigatown the outlying libraries only get dial up from CHCH and it is mostly non functional. Thanks for the thought tho! cheers

Siobhan. While not doubting the dent in the heater, how do you know this was deliberatly sent dented (without it being disclosed on listing) . Could it have been damaged on the courier?

My Father was a manufacturer. The manufacturers NEVER send out anything in an opened box. The box was in good condition. The damage did not happen in the box. I was told the box came from the factory opened. With other lies and obstructive attitude. There is a reason why you have factory sealed boxes... To make sure what is in the box is part of quality control. This is a Noel Leeming Group trick - The Warehouse (part of that group) is full of opened boxes with every single thing inside faulty. Noel leeming does this all the time always replacing the faulty item with another one in order to wear you down. People like this know they are buying seconds believe me. This isn't the first time I have had a dented item from Auckland either. This is the "it's a long way away" thing. And it is often the business going down the gurgler thing as with the Warehouse.

The factory in question I forgot to add, is in the UK. You would have to be pretty naive to believe that they send their top end expensive goods across the planet in that condition. People get to be good at what they do for a number of reasons. Being careful of their brand is only one of them. cheers
