How do I delete lost items on the new look site?
There is no way to delete items off your lost items page in New Format?, 🙆♀️
I just got a Fixed Price Offer on something I was watching weeks ago,
Yes, been relisted & gone back onto watchlist several times?, Which has been discussed in other threads,
so went to delete it off, only to find on New format, there is no way too?, 🤷♀️🤦♀️
but got back to the old desktop site in the end and deleted it and others,
what a mess this site is turning into, as the old saying goes, do not fix what is not broke!!
I now feel the frustrations others have been having, with other pages also. 🫤
This is on my personal account, so far this account still mostly old format, well via my Bookmarks anyway. 🙏

Kia Ora flossy63,
On the New Look site Lost items I have an Edit button - when selected it changes to Cancel & at the same time brings up a Delete & Trash can on each Listing - As below...
What is missing is the ability to 'Select All' - Cheers.

flossy63 Community SuperuserThanks, Lol!,I never saw that as I had scrolled slightly down to find auction to delete cutting it off on the computer screen, 🤦♀️Well personally that idea is a 👎 from me, just put a tick box on every auction how it was, then hit delete once to delete selected,or in bulk, not hide it behind a single edit button to delete individually,How many others will miss this too?, if some of us knowledgeable, experience ones even miss it? Lol!but I had to find the new page by back tracking in the tab I had it, as it came up after I selected offers and declined offer,it went to New format,But now old format is the only one I am getting now?, yes get different results depending on which way you go to a page?,fickle as,2

Yes! Very easy to miss that Edit as one scrolls down the page looking to select the ones they want to delete! - Pleased your New Look shows the same as mine though, I was starting to wonder if there was a 3rd scenario playing out Lol.
If I find myself in the New Look I use the Desktop site Link for Won & Lost items as much easier to view and use these old format functions - If I need to test the New Look site I hit the Mobile Link at the bottom of the old TM pages - saves time rather than backtracking through the open Tab.
Yes! Have them bookmarked also. - Cheers.😊

We so need those functions back on the new look. Only being able to delete one at a time is as you say flossy fickle to say the least!
Many posts popped up about not being able to relist in bulk either, only one by one. Some of those posts have disappeared.
The bigger problem is some can no longer go back to the desktop look. They have been locked out of it now before necessary functions have been added to make the site usable. Not good and that is saying it mildly.

Is user experience considered by Trademe when they make these changes?
Surely features and options which experienced users are struggling to find should ring alarm bells. User experience testing should be a fundamental consideration before something is changed or released.4 -

Yes, even the best of us can have our bad days, making us feel small, silly, Lol!, we all have our moments at times, and can laugh at ourselves,
One button on the opposite was very easy to miss, as I guess I was looking more on left side of page where it was?,
and on a big computer screen, it is not exactly in front of you so to speak as on a small device, where everything is in your face,
To be honest I just hate the New Formats, too enlarged, spacious and too spread out, too much scrolling, on a computer screen,
Like the feedback pages you see less of them than on the old format on screen, and as for the coloured faces, don't exactly stand out?, as soon as I see the new pages, I'm gone, go elsewhere to look, or copy member number hit my book mark for my old format on mine replace with member number and bingo old format,

As a software engineer the way trademe has gone about QA and user testing is absolutely appalling or non existent. The accessibility issues with the new look design for even experienced tech users are readily apparent and cause severe issues trying to perform trades and normal functional tasks related to listing, selling and buying. There is also no real response to critical site failures over months. Many pages do not offer the ability to revert back to the old design so functionality removed or inaccessible stays gone permanently now meaning trademe's use as sales site is very poor.
There are obvious causes for these issues and they are easy fixes if there was someone in tech actually making the changes. Sadly instead of quick engineering fixes they push adding the new look design under someone inexperienced. With no use of basic test protocol, no idea about integration and user testing, who doesn't know about basic site accessibility guidelines and functional design patterns. This could be explained by the forced approach to a new model to cut site operability & use of AI to remove the tech customer service costs.
There are clear and obvious accessibility issues that affect predominantly users who are not disabled, even those quite skilled in tech & IT (as much as the issues affect those less familiar with tech or have accessibility needs like text and button visibility, robust & responsive design requirements, information to be consistently shown and visible/readable to users, clear separation of data from links so data and links can be selected/read separately & making key information readily visible on all devices etc).
However if experienced users & those with more tech skills lose faith in trademe's backend system management then those with less tech skills will likely just give up if they face any issues. So there will be more missed trade payments, shipping & listing errors that cause failures to sell, loss of shipping details, less trust in the feedback system if many users are denied access to it, and result in less trust and use of trademe over time. At a time in which online trading and competitors are increasing.
Most people will not have the time to wade through the hostile design help maze to raise a case, and indeed most people when facing issues often just give up at the first hurdle and sad to say the time wasted with trademe errors that occur for both sellers and buyers have cost me weeks of lost hours already. This leads me to look at trademe only as a functional picture book that cannot even be trusted to show pictures or pass the seller email on for contact if a customer wishes to purchase something. Yet with the new look design even the picture book functionality is fraught with issues and bugs. Hence we have lots of external records outside of trademe to try to ensure records are kept more accurately.
Many traders already list on multiple sites I noticed and so if they do make sales outside I have faced the 'item is damaged can no longer sell' or 'is missing' response from them. Some just edit to incredibly high prices that dissuade purchase. Which as a buyer in these instances can be very frustrating. But I don't blame them given the faults with trademe's backend system & the design errors leading to no trust in trade functionality. As a seller I understand their frustration, (even though if our family lists in one we don't list in another and we rotate our items around which sites we use & sell on so we ourselves never list in multiple sites) but it is a common feature of using trademe. In many cases the transition to other trading platforms becomes much easier now.

For others more familiar with tech I would recommend browser site clicker apps and software test apps to automate the process of performing the now very repetitive and more arduous tasks trademe has created with the new design. Small test scripts can be setup and with small changes can run even on a subset list of items until the tasks are completed. However that this is necessary when the functionality was available and readily accessible on the old site design with higher levels of efficiency for users is a testament to the more hostile design patterns used in New Look and issues with the new design. That it is easier now to navigate the site functions in code then it is using the actual UI and that external records being kept is necessary as trademe's New Look design cannot be trusted to display listings or data related to them.
Some design style can be edited by users with stylus browser extensions but in general if New Look no longer shows critical information & functions that used to be in the old design then no amount of front end style changes will fix the critical loss of information and faults. Making a margin change or font & alignment change will not restore information about the seller or buyer details that are no longer visible and have no options to view the shipping and payment details. Best to proceed using trademe with caution and just hope they come to their senses to allow reverting to more functional design patterns with the information & functions visible/perceivable again.
