How it works
- When a buyer pays with Afterpay, their payment goes into your Pay Now account.
- Sellers receive payment upfront – buyers pay in instalments.
Fees
A transaction fee of 4.95% is automatically deducted from the total payment amount. Success fees may also apply.

How to register
Note: only NZ bank accounts can be used for Pay Now & Afterpay sales.

3. Follow the prompts, then enter your bank details and select
4. We'll pay $0.01 into your bank account, with a six-digit reference code (allow 2 business days). Find this in your bank statement.
5. Once you've found the code, go to My Trade Me – select
6. Enter the code to verify your bank account.
Withdrawing funds
Pay Now & Afterpay account withdrawals are automatic. No extra setup required!
- We pay into your nominated NZ bank account each business day.
- Payments received before 10 pm are paid into your bank account the next business day – in one payment.
- Payments received after 10 pm will be paid the following business day.
Updating withdrawal bank account
Note: only NZ bank accounts can be used for Pay Now & Afterpay sales.

View & export transactions
As a buyer
- Visit your Won items in My Trade Me.
- Head to Afterpay's site to view your account.
As a seller
Your last 60 days (or 500 transactions) can be exported to a CSV file. If you need to go back further, request an account summary.
1. Go to My Trade Me.
2. Select View Afterpay statement under 'My balances'.
3. To export transactions, select Export Pay Now and Afterpay Account.
A breakdown of which sales are included for each withdrawal can be found under 'Payment to...'.
