Buyer Protection
If you want to pay with Ping or Afterpay, make sure it's available on the listing. Sellers can't edit payment options after the listing closes.
Other payment methods
Banks now complete a Confirmation of Payee check to let you know if the account name and number match before you make a payment. If you get a partial or no match notification, reach out to the seller to check their bank details. Learn about the change at Get Verified .
- Cash on pick up – make sure you’re handing over cash in person. Don't leave it in the mailbox.

Online bank transfer – include the purchase number in the payment reference.
Contact the seller if they haven't sent their bank account details. - Credit card (offsite) – some sellers may offer in-store payment facilities.
Your Trade Me account balance can't be used to pay for purchases.
