About the Buyer Protection fee experiment
We're running a short experiment from 24 March 2025 to 6 April 2025 with a small group of members limited to our Home & Living category.
Members included in the experiment will be charged a small Buyer Protection fee of $0.99 for purchases on casual seller’s listings in Home & Living. At the same time, we are running our free selling promotion for casual sellers in Home & Living.
We will review the results of this experiment and contact these members for their feedback to see if it’s something we want to explore further in future.
Members have been selected at random. The experiment does not include listings from professional sellers
What the Buyer Protection fee means
If you pay the $0.99 Buyer Protection fee during the experiment:
- you don't need to complete your purchase via Ping or Afterpay to qualify for Buyer Protection. You're eligible for Buyer Protection provided all other requirements are met, and subject to all other standard Buyer Protection terms.
- the fee is charged to your Trade Me account balance and will appear on your Account Statement.
